Proud History

SWR Financial Group has a long, proud history and today remains one of Bendigo's true boutique accounting firms. For nearly 100 years, SWR Accountants have provided clients with professional accounting services, specialising in small business, trades and agricultural accounting advice.

SWR was founded in 1922 by Mr Philip Henry Seeber, as a sole practitioner accountant opposite Bendigo's Old Post Office in Pall Mall. Mr Seeber, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, was then the Secretary of the Bendigo Jockey Club and Secretary of the Trustees of the Bendigo Racecourse Reserve.

1966, Chartered Accountant Mr Donald Charles Washington along with his wife and sole employee Judith Washington, began working with Mr Seeber on estate taxation, a relationship established through their mutual colleague and prominent Bendigo solicitor Mr Eric Cohen. Shortly after the two businesses merged to be known as Seeber & Washington Chartered Accountants.

1978 the growing business relocated to 135 McCrae Street Bendigo & Mr Washington had taken the number of staff to eight, quickly establishing offices in Castlemaine and Cohuna servicing a large number of agricultural and rural industries clients.

1990, Mr Glenn Stuart Robertson joined the firm and became a partner in 1995 prompting a name change of the firm to Seeber Washington & Robertson.

1998 a succession plan came to fruition as Glenn Robertson become sole principal of the firm.

2010 SWR moved to its modern and spacious Breen Street premises, offering state of the art office accommodation meeting both the needs of staff and clients alike.

2011 SWR Wealth Management was launched in a joint venture between Glenn Robertson and John Archibald a financial planner with over 25 years experience in financial services, expanding the range of financial services being offered to the clientele of SWR to include professional, licensed financial advice.

Today the firm is better known as SWR Financial Group incorporating integrated Accounting Business Advisory and Wealth Management services.
